"I am inspired by the gifts from the land. This past year I have been making small baskets with castoffs found on the forest floor at the Wildfire EWF-031 burn site near my home. For this call I have combined the imagery of the sky with spruce needles, dyed second-hand fabric, long grass, sinew and floral broadcloth to create wearable reminders that we are interwoven with the land. In my practice I create with Sweetgrass, hide, plant-dyed second-hand fabric, pine needles, spruce needles, sinew, floral broadcloth, locally harvested plant pigments, Saskatoon berries, wild mint leaves, sage, tobacco, cedar, bee pollen and buffalo wool and more."
