"Since 2020, my textile research has aimed to valorize plastic waste. Despite being residues, these materials have many qualities: they are sturdy, flexible, and colorful.
To collect plastic material, I’m inviting my surroundings, classmates, teachers, and local grocery stores in my neighborhood to contribute to my projects by entrusting me with their plastic waste. After acquiring this raw material, I transform it into threads, and then reveal it in my weavings, where the pattern unfolds thread by thread.
Using a personalised technique, I transform an ordinary material by giving it a precious value. This appeal to the community allows me to invite spectators to rethink their consumption and consider plastic waste from a new angle. ------ For some years now, I‘ve been rediscovering and highlighting the hidden beauties of everyday life, unveiling them through weaving. I reinvent a mundane material, defying standards of beauty and weaving a new epic at the heart of a contemporary issue: plastic."
