"My research is inspired by the work of many women, both known and unknown. Textiles, typically associated with femininity, are part of the continuum surrounding undervalued and unpaid labor. Within the domestic sphere, women have always embellished, repaired, clothed, and created fabrics for their families. In a society that values speed and productivity, matriarchal skills inspire my work: precision, patience, and rituals are at the heart of my textile exploration. From feminine art to feminist art, I aim to honor the labor of slowness, repetition, and care that is at the center of our homes. Between the visible and the invisible, the public and the intimate, my research focuses on this porous in-between. I created pieces that, between art object and everyday object, met my aesthetic need for a beautiful home. In seeking transparency, the window quickly emerged as the research site for my pieces. It acts like a house's eyelids; with the curtain drawn, it reveals the occupant's intimacy. In the evening, I love looking through the windows of my neighborhood; the theater of kitchens and domestic spaces unfolds. The primary intention of the projects I'm submitting to you was to create a tableau for the contemplation of those who pass by as well as those who stay."
