"I (am) inspired by any raw material, organic shapes and color, rough gemstones, antique beads, coins etc. I usually work with sterling silver and fine silver, sometimes precious gemstones, occasionally bronze, and rarely gold. I incorporate my handwoven wire textiles in my jewelry, I solder the woven silver piece within frames, so they stand sturdy. I used to knit and weave carpets and kilim rugs years ago back in my hometown. The texture and the transparency of woven mesh and knit pieces amuses me so much. My hand-woven mesh pieces draw inspiration from traditional weaving, but also offers a modern and up-to-date look at the same time. I like to see the contrast between a "fragile" piece of hand-woven wire mesh in a sturdy frame or in a 3D silver structure. I like my woven mesh to be a bit irregular and organic, so the touch of the maker’s hand can be seen."
