Carrie Sanders is a self-taught fibre artist based in Calgary, Alberta. From her home studio, she creates handcrafted vessels using natural cotton rope, dyed by hand with traditional, all-natural methods. Her work explores sustainable color practices and the meditative rhythm of sewing, which she connects to her earlier experience with wheel throwing.

Natural dyeing uses colorants from plants, minerals, and insects. Carrie works with materials like madder root, oak galls, and indigo to create earthy tones with subtle variations. These natural shifts give each piece a unique character.

Her work has been featured at local markets and through custom commissions. She continues to evolve her craft through experimentation and a deep connection to natural materials
