Krista Acheson

Krista Acheson is a self-taught, multidisciplinary artist who is living and creating in Edmonton, AB.

She began carving stone, in November 2023, to expand on her large-scale plaster series entitled ' Nowhere Girl'.

The 'Nowhere Girl' series depicts the abstracted female form captured at various points of metamorphosis, introspection and reconstitution.

The work is subliminally autobiographical and signifies her mood state and her self-perception at the time of carving.

"I think if you create something with honesty and vulnerability, no matter what the medium--or how abstracted or strange the result is--anyone going through something similar will feel an inexplicable connection to it. The work finds who it's meant for."
