Natalie Gerber
Slipcast porcelain sculpture.
Stillness
Natalie Gerber's current research explores the complexity of the embodied feminine experience as it is expressed through the hands of the maker. Through a multi-layered dialogue between textiles, porcelain and photography, that is conceived and realized in relation to her own body, she threads together subjectivity and materiality. In this process, Natalie turns to phenomenology which explores the complexity of subject-object relations and the integrated relationships between mind and body, intentionality and action.
This artwork is a part of the Alberta Craft Calgary Spotlight Exhibition: Stillness by Natalie Gerber and will be available to view and purchase from September 19 - November 7, 2026.
