This earring collection contains memories from 3 different trips to the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology spanning 4 decades of my life. This series of work inspired by the museum includes shells I have found during from my travels, precious gems and metals collected from the earth, and upcycled components that I’ve inherited along the way. The postcards the earrings are displayed on include a vintage postcard from my hometown where my Grandfather also lived, 2 vintage postcards he purchased on the trip to Alberta (which I later inherited), and finally a postcard I purchased at the Museum the last time I was there with my son.
Exhibition: Craft Perspectives showcases new works inspired by historical objects, archival collections, and cultural artifacts found across the province. Artists have delved into museum vaults, explored archival treasures, and uncovered forgotten stories—reimagining them through the lens of contemporary Craft.
