My artistic practice is rooted in exploring the existential, visceral, and embodied experiences that shape our lives. I engage with a diverse array of media including collage, drawing, painting, sewing, beading, and assemblage, allowing each material to guide me in a spontaneous, and organic creative process. I embrace the unpredictability of my work, finding joy in the lack of formal planning and the freedom that comes with it.
A recent project that particularly excites me involved reimagining jewellery into unique accessories. The act of repurposing collected objects was not only delightful but also deeply fulfilling. I found great pleasure in the initial selection process, organizing materials by colour and texture, and at times, disassembling them into individual components. This approach provided a wealth of flexibility and options, allowing for greater creativity in the final design.
The piece I crafted for this exhibition is a testament to the beauty of diverse elements coming together into a cohesive and innovative whole. The uncertainty I felt about each element transformed into clarity as I completed the piece and explored its functionality. The resulting flower accessory can be worn as a brooch or styled around a scarf, reflecting the versatility and adaptability that I cherish in my work. Each creation tells a story of transformation and connection, inviting viewers to engage with the layers of meaning embedded within.
