Evening blue stain with iridescent treatment." Art allows me to express my deep love of wild Alberta and, with the influence of Canadian folk-music, the need to conserve it. I aim to reflect the power and beauty of wild Canada.
Cedar trees have a presence unlike other trees in our boreal forest, and can live for hundreds of years. When a full moon is over a cedar tree, philosophy, spiritualism and poetry thrive.
I primarily work with reclaimed, recycled and vegetable-tanned leather, sourced from Alberta. In every one of my journals I allow the natural, unique markings, (and stories) of each hide to guide the artistry.
